Wrightsville Beach Home Interiors

Modern Coastal is our signature style and this project was a dream to work on and bring it to life. The couple was selling their family residence in Raleigh and moving full time to their vacation home at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.  They hired Kersting architecture to reinvent the building from the ground up by lifting the main structure and adding a level.  We were brought in to help with the fit and finish decisions and for the interior design including all of the furnishings inside and out.  Visiting the couple’s place in Raleigh allowed us to see how they lived and pick items that could be repurposed.  Drawing inspiration from the surrounding environment was literally a breeze.  We always start our journey with the largest elements that need defining and so the floors were a wide plank white oak with a natural finish reminiscent of the sand.  The built-ins were done in a clean white and a warm walnut tone to provide contrast.  A custom sofa was made for the main living area which achieved the ideal dimensions and use of space, not to mention comfort level.  We designed a stone coffee table to fit in perfectly and introduce a material that complimented all the other surfaces.  The owner’s bedroom continues the waterview experience with the intracoastal-blue suede headboard and a wall to match.  Every space is uncluttered and pristine offering an environment that lets you breathe and enjoy the views.  This couple understands and embraces clean lines and design.
